UCF Intern

Mrs. Emiba, our student intern from UCF, will be taking over the class for the next two weeks.  She will be teaching an exciting lesson on Mesopotamia.

2nd Quarter Update

During the 2nd Quarter we will be studying Ancient Civilizations.  There is a different textbook that will be used during this nine weeks, however there is only a class set.  Since students will not have a textbook at home any homework that is given will not need the textbook. Students will be given notes/handouts and those will be used to study for quizzes and tests. During the 3rd and 4th quarter we will return to the original textbook, which all students have a copy at home.

***Starting 2nd Quarter, No name papers will be thrown out!!!

***Notebooks start fresh - 10/27.  All old papers are thrown away.

***REMEMBER...

  • Current Events must have every question answered/filled out in order to receive credit.
  • You will receive a zero if you leave out ANY of the questions!!!
  • If you have to write a minimum number of sentences, you will lose FULL credit if you do not complete the minimum.
  • You must also write out the definition to the four words from the article.
  • If it is not handed in on the due date, it will not be accepted.

**Planners are required to be used for this class.  I will be checking that the students are writing their social studies assignments everyday.  If their is no homework, project, or current event then they should write none, nothing, or cross out the box.   They will be graded periodically and it will be used as a classwork grade.  This should be an easy 100%!!

The second quarter we will be learning about Ancient Civilizations.   This will include Mesopotamia, Greece, and Rome.
