This is a probability discovery lesson

 

 

 

 

 

 

Introduction

 

You will be completing a Probability Booklet.  Complete the webquest, answer the questions and compile your information in a folder to be turned in.  Don’t worry, it won’t be all work, there are fun things too!!!

Tasks

Task 1.  Complete the Probability Vocabulary list (Mrs. Helms will give this to you)

Task 2:  Write a brief history of probability. Approx. 2 paragraphs.

Task 3:  List three ways where probability is used in the real world.  Give explanations.

 

Task 4.  Conducting Theoretical Probability

Create an experiment


1. Choose what probability game pieces you want to use.
dice, coin, spinners, beads, or a combination of two or more of these.


2. Write out what you will do for their experiment.


3. Predict the results of your experiment.


4. Do the experiment. Show the experimental probabilities.

Task 5  Complete the Probability Problems.  Mrs. Helms will give you a copy of the problems.

EVALUAITON

All tasks should be completed and written work placed in a folder.

Each task is work 15 points. Label each page with the Task number.  (90 points)
