What is SAFE?

In 1987, the SAFE, or Student and Family Empowerment Program, was established.  The program is delivered by a SAFE Coordinator at each middle or high school, that uses a team approach  consisting of administrators, counselors, the CHILL Counselor and teachers.  The SAFE Program is a school-based team that assists students and their families with their problems.  This program is an effective response to dealing with high-risk students.  The school district has also paired up with hospitals, treatment centers and community agencies to provide services for youths and their families.  For more information or assistance, please contact Kimberly, SAFE Coordinator at (407) 623-1462 Ext:231.

Chill logoThe CHILL Program is a program that works closely with the SAFE Program.  CHILL is an on-site counseling service that is provided by the Winter Park Health Foundation.  This program provides support group facilitation and individual counseling for students and families.  For more information regarding CHILL, contact CHILL Counselor, Heather Galvin at (407) 623-1462 Ext: 236.
