* Novel Reading: Assigned and free-choice novels are read each 9 weeks. See "Great Novel Race" link below for more information. Additionally, Reading Logs (if not in the Planner, I will give themto you) are checked each Tuesday and should contain at least 210 minutes of reading completed at home per week. Log entries require a parent signature.

* The following are novels I will be assigning for you to read. You may purchase these for a nominal cost at Borders, Winter Park Village; Books-a-Million, 17-92 and 436; Barnes and Noble, Altamonte Mall; or check them out of your public library. They are carefully chosen in order to expose you to rich vocabulary, excellent writing, varying authors' styles, varying genres, and historic content. You will be given an alternate choice if you have already read the book.
